Last Friday afternoon, the operations team met to analyze the first quarter and team building through a course of curling. A recap at some conclusions, feedback and fun on the ice.
Zoom meeting
The day began not too far from our office at the Bijenhuisje (Bee house). There was joking talk of a “Zoom meeting”. We first reflected on the first quarter of 2025. Prior to this quarter, we chose to focus more on measurable inputs, with the goal of achieving higher outputs. The first was certainly achieved, with the desired output lagging behind.
Looking further, we saw that the market was starting to improve more, but that we regularly lost momentum in processes due to late follow-up at decisive links. Based on a number of analyses, we drew up improvement proposals that we will work on in the coming months.
The consultation ended with a feedback session in a game format. Sometimes, and/or for some, giving feedback is not their favorite or everyday activity. Nevertheless, it is an important part of the work culture at TailorMinds and improving collaboration. Through a game variant, a more light-hearted session was created and with it more openness to share perspectives with each other.
On slippery ice
To end the day, we were expected at the curling venue at the Silverdome in Zoetermeer. After a clear explanation of the sport and its rules, we ventured onto the ice. Not entirely without danger, because a few of us managed to admire the ice a little closer than desired.
It taught us that the sport looks a lot easier on TV than in reality. The combination of precise steering of the stones, intensive sweeping of the ice and strategy makes it an interesting sport. Still, we will leave Olympic ambitions for 2026.
Succession for 2025
All in all, a useful and intensive day with more than enough perspectives for the rest of the year. It’s up to us to use the outcomes of this day to turn them into better output!
