Last week Sander completed his first aid responder (FAFS) refresher course resulting into an up-to-date FAFS team again. Not only in the office do we think about prevention and safety. We also pay attention to working safely for our colleagues on projects. How does that work at TailorMinds?
VCA, RI&E & technical training
Since we do not see and/or speak to our seconded colleagues on a daily basis, it is not always possible to have a complete overview of the current safety situation on site. What we can do is providing our colleagues with a full backpack. For example, we facilitate a VCA-VOL certificate as standard if you do not already have one. By means of a preliminary study and an exam, our colleagues have the theoretical knowledge to work safely and healthy on their project. In some projects this is also a requirement.
We also have progress meetings with them every 6 to 8 weeks to go over their projects. Using an work inspection form, we also check whether our colleague’s workplace complies with both physical and mental safety aspects. If there is a potentially mentally unsafe work situation, we also have an independent confidential advisor that people can contact. This confidant can also act if the situation requires it.
Finally, in coordination with the client, we contribute to technical development. This includes installation responsibility for Electrical / Automation Engineers and project management for our Project Engineers and Managers.
Safety vacancies
Apart from safety for our colleagues, our clients are regularly looking for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialists. In various areas, they contribute to maintaining and/or improving a safer working environment and production safety. Think of biosafety instructions, construction standards and work permits.
