Our recruitment colleague Hans is leaving TailorMinds as of October. A new opportunity came his way which is closer to his heart and background. A look back at the cooperation and an outlook on the new situation at TailorMinds.
The recruitment adventure
We met Hans in 2022 when he had just completed his Masters in Global Health Management at Maastricht University. After obtaining this degree, he and his family had their sights set on a future outside of South Africa and specifically in The Netherlands.
After an exploratory discussion with Arjan about the labor market in the Netherlands, Hans asked if we would consider an application for the Recruitment Consultant vacancy. Not in line with expectations with his background in healthcare, but based on his entrepreneurship in South Africa, we saw enough leads to take up the commercial position with us.
In November 2022 the adventure began where certainly in the beginning a lot of new knowledge had to be gained about the recruitment processes and industries combined with a relocation near Zoetermeer. During the two years Hans coordinated a number of projects and made a valuable contribution by thinking along as an experience expert about the migration processes for our foreign colleagues. Previously we only knew the formalities of a migration where we helped with the processes. Hans’ experiences have allowed us to make the preparations and guiding more efficient and applicable.
Review of Hans
‘Looking back on my time at TailorMinds, I can say that it has been a particularly instructive and challenging period. From the moment I started, I was warmly welcomed and given the opportunity to develop myself in a field that was fairly new to me. I got to know the recruitment process inside and out, and I am proud of the projects I was able to contribute to. Especially the opportunity to use my experience with emigration projects was a valuable addition. I have always found the cooperation with my colleagues pleasant and inspiring. I was able to build lasting relationships with my colleagues which I will certainly take with me into the future. Thank you for a great time TailorMinds!
A busy period
As of October 1, Hans will start working in the sector where his heart also lies: in the healthcare sector. Of course we regret that soon we will no longer be able to discuss the funny differences between Afrikaans and Dutch, but we wish him success with his new challenge!
With Hans’ departure, there is a busy period ahead for our team. Besides his departure, Sander recently became a father and is thus on parental leave this month. To bridge this period as professionally as possible, preparations were made in September to ensure efficient handovers. With a number of ongoing and upcoming projects, it will be busy for a while, but is not unachievable.
New colleague
For Hans’ seat, we have managed to find a new colleague. More on this soon. If you are an engineer with a mechanical, electrical or chemical background and active in the pharmaceutical, food or chemical industry, please feel free to contact us or view our vacancies here.
