At TailorMinds, we work every day with vacancies and candidates across the pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industries. To truly understand our clients and candidates, we believe it is important not only to know which roles exist within these industries, but also to understand the environments in which our professionals work.<\/span><\/p>\n

That is why our team of consultants recently visited the Biotech Training Facility<\/a> (BTF) in Leiden. It was an insightful day that introduced us to the fascinating and complex world of ATMPs: Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products.<\/p>\n

From theory to practice<\/h3>\n

During our visit, we gained a better understanding of what working with ATMPs involves. We explored several topics that play an important role in this environment, including legislation and regulations, compliance, processes, and the way activities are carried out within the industry. Alongside the theoretical aspects, there was also plenty of opportunity to experience the practical side. We were introduced to specific equipment and testing methods used in the field, including Rotea and flow cytometry.<\/p>\n

It was precisely this combination of theory and practice that made the day so valuable to us. Terms and concepts that we regularly encounter in conversations with candidates and clients were given much more context.<\/p>\n

A better understanding of the roles we recruit for<\/h3>\n

As a recruitment organisation operating in technically complex sectors, we want to understand the fields we recruit for. Of course, our consultants do not need to become ATMP specialists themselves, but having knowledge of the processes, technologies, and working environments our candidates encounter helps us have more meaningful and informed conversations.<\/p>\n

Following this visit, we are even better equipped to understand the technical terminology, responsibilities, and experience listed on a CV. At the same time, we have a clearer understanding of what our clients mean when they are looking for professionals with specific knowledge or experience. Ultimately, this deeper understanding supports what TailorMinds is all about: creating the right connection between professionals and organisations.<\/p>\n

Knowledge we take with us<\/h3>\n

After a full day of theory and practical experience, we returned home with a wealth of new information, as well as the realisation that there is still so much to learn about the world of ATMPs.<\/p>\n

For us, that is exactly what makes working in the pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industries so interesting. Technology and regulations continue to evolve, which means we need to keep developing our own knowledge as well. We would like to thank the Biotech Training Facility in Leiden for an interesting and educational day!<\/p>\n
