Last Tuesday, in collaboration with the Biotech Training Facility (BTF), we organized another knowledge and networking event for our colleagues. On the agenda were two presentations focused on artificial intelligence (A.I.) within GMP and chromatography. A review of the event.
Back after 5 years absence
The last time we held the event was back in 2019. The idea was and is to give our colleagues the opportunity to share knowledge with each other and network afterwards while enjoying a buffet. This to our likings, as did BTF, so the plans for 2020 were already made. Like many plans for 2020, these could be temporarily parked due to the corona pandemic.
After the pandemic the interest remained to organize the event again, but if business keeps going on and you don’t plan it in advance, then it remains just words and no action. At the beginning of this year, we set planned this for November which allowed preparations to be made.
Sharing knowledge
After preparing together with BTF, last Tuesday was the day. With about 40 (former) colleagues it was a busy event and there was a lot of interest in the topics. First up was former colleague Arunava, currently at Progress Experts in Life Science, with his presentation on A.I. within GMP. With a nice overview of the origins of A.I., its applications and his optimistic view of developments, this gave new perspectives to think about.
The second presentation focused on chromatography by BTF trainer Piet. We started with an interactive workshop where the task was to put the right images with process descriptions in the right box: USP or DSP. Of course, also in the correct order. After explaining the answers, Pete explained in detail the different processes, including best practices and validation processes.
Networking with a good apetite
After the two presentations, it was time to digest not only the new information, but also the Italian buffet facilitated by BTF. The combination of good food and the sharing of contacts and experiences worked well, bringing the event to a close in a convivial atmosphere.
Thanks
We would like to thank BTF for facilitating this event, Arunava and Piet for their presentations and our colleagues for an informative and enjoyable event. Definitely worth repeating.
