Last Friday, we were guests at Avifauna bird park for our annual summer barbecue combined with entertaining activities. In this case, a visit to the bird park. Here is a brief summary.
Catching up with taste
Most of the colleagues who wanted to join the barbecue were also curious about the bird park. We were welcomed with coffee, tea or other refreshments and a delicious piece of cake, as we had to wait a while after the walk through the park for the barbecue to be ready.
After this introduction, we visited the bird park in small groups, chatting as we went. The birds can be seen in various settings. Storks, for example, fly and walk freely through the park, while the sea eagle enclosure is surrounded by nets. Monkeys can also be seen scattered throughout the park in various enclosures, some of which are open.
During the tour, new connections were made and existing ones strengthened, and plenty of beautiful photos were taken to share with friends and family back home. Afterwards, we gathered in the centre of the park at the Cuban-style park restaurant.
Barbecue
Drinks were served on the terrace while the barbecue was being prepared. After everyone had been welcomed, including the guests who arrived a little later, the barbecue could begin. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed a balmy summer evening. The delicious food and good conversation made the time fly by. Good conversations took place at the various tables. And, as you would expect from engineers, technology and its applications played an important role in the conversations. The atmosphere was great and we look back on a wonderful event.
