We recently welcomed a new colleague from abroad as a highly skilled migrant. Once again, we can look back on a successful immigration process for this engineer.
First introduction
Initial contact was made via LinkedIn, where this engineer had indicated that he was looking for a new job. His preference was for a new international role outside his home country. At that time, we had a very interesting and suitable vacancy, which we discussed briefly. We then decided to schedule a further introduction via Teams, during which we could also discuss the vacancy in more detail. During the conversation, he made a very positive impression. He has a cheerful and open personality and also showed great enthusiasm for the vacancy and the opportunity to come to the Netherlands. At the end of the conversation, we indicated that we would send more information about what it means to live and work in the Netherlands.
Continuation of the procedure
After the information had been exchanged and discussed, we were able to continue the procedure in consultation. This meant introducing the CV with additional relevant information such as availability, conditions and the IND procedure. Positive feedback from the client soon followed, with interest in scheduling an initial interview. The emphasis was on the substantive aspects of the position and on determining whether there was a good personal fit. Both parties looked back very positively and interest was piqued in scheduling a follow-up interview with other colleagues in the client’s department. This was followed fairly quickly by feedback with the news that they were keen to enter into a collaboration. For us, this was the starting signal to begin the IND and immigration procedure.
Start in the Netherlands
Our new colleague has now started in his new role and everything is currently running smoothly. The immigration procedure also went almost flawlessly. Approval of the permit application by the IND was not long in coming. Finding suitable accommodation also went more smoothly than expected, with the second house viewing proving successful. The other formalities, including the residence permit, registration with the municipality and setting up a bank account, have now been completed. Our new colleague also seems to be settling in quickly, both privately and professionally. Just before his arrival in the Netherlands, our colleague got married in his home country and hopes to welcome his partner soon. A successful procedure indeed!
