In mid-October, we expect to welcome a Syrian colleague from Turkey to the Netherlands: Mohamad. An open application quickly led to a start at one of our clients as an Automation Engineer. An update on his process.
Looking for work
We came into contact with Mohamad at the beginning of August after he indicated that he was open to other job opportunities outside Turkey. After running his own automation company in industrial engineering for a number of years, he let us know that he wanted to build a future for himself and his family elsewhere.
Given his relevant experience in industrial automation in sectors such as the pharmaceutical industry, we were quickly able to make the connection with a number of our clients. Soon, a link was made with an upcoming project where they were looking for a candidate similar to Mohamad. Within a short period of time, two interviews followed, resulting in a quick start with a tailor-made setup.
A tailor-made process
The client immediately saw Mohamad’s potential, as well as a number of growth prospects for him. Based on this, a number of concrete criteria were drawn up in consultation, which both parties will work on to make this a success. This has created a ‘starter position’ with the aim of eventually achieving the desired seniority under appropriate guidance and with clear objectives.
All three parties have committed to this process and look forward to Mohamad’s development. We thank the client for their confidence in him. We also appreciate Mohamad’s motivation and enthusiasm to embark on this adventure together.
On the way to the Netherlands
In the meantime, we have of course started the process of obtaining the necessary permits for him and his family to come to the Netherlands. In addition, we will scour the housing market every day to find suitable accommodation in the area. Upon arrival in the Netherlands, our goal is to have most of the formalities taken care of and/or planned.
