Quarterly meeting with prickly topics and activities

Last Friday, we were once again guests at Kasteel De Vanenburg in Putten. The entire team looked back, looked ahead and discussed potentially prickly topics. The day ended with a fencing workshop, which gave the prickliness a different meaning. A look back at a relaxed team day.

Market

At TailorMinds, we meet once every quarter in varying compositions to look back and ahead, reflect, give and receive feedback. We also assess whether we are still on track with our plans. This year, the market is different from previous years due to various factors. These include the state of the economy, slower decision-making, influences from the global stage and fewer projects. As a result, there is less demand, which means that we are currently neither growing nor shrinking. By maintaining our focus on our existing clients and also focusing on new clients, we expect to acquire more assignments.

Potentially prickly topics

An important part of the agenda was the exchange of knowledge about the implications of the new NBBU collective labour agreement, which will come into effect in January 2026, followed by the TTA Act, which will come into effect in 2027. Both pieces of legislation will have a considerable impact. They will affect the way we offer our services to our clients, how we record this and how it will be reflected in audits. For the TTA Act, this means that failure to meet the access requirements will have major consequences for the continuation of business operations. Fortunately, sharing this knowledge, which we obtain largely through our branch organisation NBBU, leads to insights. This includes, in particular, good preparation, which we will be focusing on in the coming period. All in all, this is a package of changes that should not be underestimated.

‘Prickly’ activity

After a delicious lunch, an interesting activity was planned for the afternoon: a fencing workshop. Inspired by Roy’s enthusiasm, we were introduced to the basics and techniques of fencing. This proved more difficult than expected, and the beautiful weather added an extra challenge. The downside of protective clothing is that it does not allow for good ventilation. However, this did not prevent us from enthusiastically participating. Here and there, a few sensitive pricks were delivered. Sander and Arjan then fought a duel, which was won by Sander. After that, it was time to rehydrate and enjoy the rest of this heroic afternoon.
