Last Friday, we organised an afternoon full of experiences at SAIL 2025 in Amsterdam aboard of sailing barge named ‘De Lis’ for our relations and partners. An afternoon, which we look back on with great pleasure.
Network Boat
In April this year, we started preparations for this event. We managed to secure a beautiful sailing barge named ‘De Lis’ through the SAIL organisation. We then invited our relations and partners to sail with us to admire the Tallships from the water. Sailing ships from all over the world were moored in the area near the centre of Amsterdam. Unfortunately, because it was holiday time, some could not join us. Luckily, one or more colleagues from every relation we invited were present. The added value of the event was that the sometimes still unknown guests could network with each other.
Departure
On Friday morning, all guests gathered at Amerikahaven. At the gathering point, there were several organisations that had booked a ship. As a result, it was a pleasant crowd. For each booked ship, we were escorted to where it was berthed. On arrival, we received an enthusiastic welcome from the skipper of ‘De Lis’. Together with her sons and colleagues, she ensured safe navigation in the swarm of many ships, boats and little boats on the water. She proudly introduced her ship and wished us a happy day. After setting sail and hoisting the TailorMinds flag, it was time for a well-prepared lunch below deck. This was also the place to get acquainted, renew old contacts or catch up.
What the event is all about
After an hour and a half of sailing, we reached the area around the centre of Amsterdam on the IJ. Here we feasted our eyes. There was so much to see of Tallships, ships with guests, historical ships from earlier times and also naval vessels. Even on the water, there can be pushing for a nice spot to see something. This also happened because we entered a narrow ‘funnel’ with too many boats. This is where the helmsmanship of the skipper and her sons showed, giving the necessary awe to guide a vessel of such size safely through these crowds. After enjoying all the beauty on show for a long time, it was time to sail back. Conversations resumed and over drinks and refreshments, it was pleasant on board for a long time.
Interested in working with TailorMinds?
This day tasted like more, for our guests, but also for ourselves. If connecting gives you energy, so does a trip you make with a group of relations and partners. Feel free to contact Noëmi, Peter, Sander or Arjan to find out what we can do. Whether it’s capacity enquiries, administrative support for visa procedures or taking care of a complete emigration. We can do it! If you are curious about this, please contact one of us.
