Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical / Industrial Automation / Mechatronics (or similar).
  • 5+ years in (bio)pharma, food or chemical automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View SE and PlantPAx.
  • Familiar with PharmaSuite or comparable MES; solid grasp of GMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Clear communicator in English (Dutch a plus); able to coach junior engineers and interface with vendors.

Duties

Supporting a leading biotech client in Leiden with the green-field automation of new clean-utility and tank-farm systems. We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer who can own PLC/DCS design and small-scale integrations across Rockwell PlantPAx and PharmaSuite MES.

Your impact:
  • Configure and validate Rockwell ControlLogix PLC code for vendor skids (PW, Process Air, N?, denatured-ethanol & CIP chemical tank farm).
  • Build and test PlantPAx applications for real-time monitoring and control of stick-built equipment.
  • Implement recipe management and basic workflows in PharmaSuite, aligned with ISA-88/95.
  • Deliver functional/design specs, FAT/SAT protocols and GAMP 5 compliant CSV documentation.
  • Act as primary automation contact for process, QA and vendor teams; drive troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
