Last Friday we were guests at Kameryck for our annual summer barbecue combined with fun activities. An impression of the atmosphere will follow soon, for now a quick recap.
Shooting and putting
Fortunately, we had reasonable weather and it was dry despite the somewhat grim forecast. After a welcome with drinks, one part of the group went to the shooting location and another part was instructed on how to play Pitch and Putt.
In groups of three to four, we went onto the golf course to put what we had learnt into practice. We played the “Texas Scramble” variant which allowed us as a group to always use the best stroke of one of us. This resulted in motivating good scores and made it fun for everyone.
Colleagues who took part in shooting could measure their sense of precision with a handbow and air rifle after instruction. A game element was added here too: in groups of four or five colleagues shot at targets with certain point values. The group with the most points won.
Braai buffet
After returning from the activity, a number of colleagues arrived, who had informed to come later. The group grew larger and scores and achievements with golf and shooting were reviewed over a snack and a drink. After this, the food prepared on the braai was served and, after a brief moment of welcome, the “Braai Buffet” was started.
At the various tables, people caught up or got acquainted when it was the first time. The atmosphere was fine. Since we were now indoors, hardly anyone noticed that it had started to rain in the meantime, which could not spoil the atmosphere either. We look back on a great event.
