- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Process Control or similar
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Emerson DeltaV in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Strong knowledge of GMP environments and validation requirements
- Experience with batch processes and recipe management (ISA-88 knowledge is a plus)
- Familiarity with PLC systems, SCADA, historians (e.g. PI) and MES integrations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage
- Proactive and structured working style within a regulated environment

Werkzaamheden
For a pharmaceutical production location in Leiden, we are looking for an Automation Engineer with strong DeltaV experience. In this role, you will focus on the design, implementation and lifecycle management of DeltaV DCS systems within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for maintaining and optimizing automated process systems supporting commercial production and new product introduction.Responsibilities:
- Design, configure and modify Emerson DeltaV DCS systems in a GMP production environment
- Develop and maintain control modules, phases and batch logic in accordance with ISA-88 principles
- Execute automation changes in line with formal change control (MoC) procedures
- Support commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ) and validation activities
- Draft and review automation documentation including FDS, SDS, test protocols and reports
- Troubleshoot process control and automation issues during manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with process engineering, production and QA to optimize system performance
- Ensure compliance with GMP, Annex 11 and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
- Support audits and inspections related to automation and data integrity
