  • HBO-level education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utilities engineering, maintenance, facilities operations, or system ownership within a regulated industrial environment.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems including but not limited to HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, boilers, refrigeration, BMS, and building utility infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting deviations, CAPAs, change controls, audits, and inspection readiness activities.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP PM or Maximo.
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication.

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience as technical lead, system owner, or equipment owner within a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of GLAM processes and lifecycle asset management methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability initiatives.

Werkzaamheden

  • Serve as the accountable owner for assigned utility systems and assets within the facility.
  • Ensure optimal technical performance, reliability, compliance, inspection readiness, and lifecycle management of designated utility systems throughout their full lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned systems and ensure alignment between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Validation, and external stakeholders.
  • Support safe, compliant, and sustainable operation of utility systems in accordance with applicable GMP requirements, company standards, EH&S requirements, and engineering best practices.

Strategic Influence
  • Acts as end-to-end owner for assigned utility systems and infrastructure.
  • Drives proactive lifecycle management and continuous improvement activities for assigned systems.
  • Identifies system risks, obsolescence concerns, and reliability gaps and develops mitigation plans.
  • Coordinates with Global Lifecycle Asset Management (GLAM) stakeholders regarding lifecycle strategies, upgrades, and asset sustainability.

Technical Ownership
  • Owns technical performance, compliance status, reliability and lifecycle management of assigned utility systems.
  • Owns maintenance strategies, asset records, criticality assessments, spare parts strategies, and technical documentation for assigned systems.
  • Ensures systems remain inspection-ready and operated in a validated and compliant state.
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned utility systems.

Leadership
  • Provides technical leadership and direction for assigned utility systems.
  • Supports Maintenance Engineers, Sr Maintenance Technicians, contractors and operations personnel with technical expertise and system guidance.
  • Leads or supports troubleshooting, root cause analyses, deviations, change controls and CAPA activities related to assigned systems.

Relationship Focus
  • Works closely with Facilities & Engineering, Warehouse, Quality, Validation, Reliability Engineering, Automation, EH&S and Operations stakeholders.
  • Interfaces with vendors, OEMs, contractors, utility providers and regulatory inspectors as required.
  • Coordinates with corporate GLAM teams and site leadership regarding lifecycle management and asset planning activities.

Contribution
  • Responsible for maintaining safe, compliant, reliable, and sustainable operation of assigned utility systems.
  • Supports operational readiness, system reliability, maintenance optimization, and compliance initiatives.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, lifecycle management, energy efficiency, and operational performance.

Position Specific Tasks
  • Act as System Owner for assigned utility systems and infrastructure.
  • Own and maintain system documentation including SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments, asset lists, technical drawings, criticality assessments, and maintenance strategies.
  • Own and manage asset information and records within CMMS systems.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for assigned systems.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability trends, maintenance KPIs, deviations, CAPAs, and compliance metrics.
  • Coordinate lifecycle planning, obsolescence management, upgrade proposals, and asset replacement strategies.
  • Coordinate with Global Lifecycle Asset Management (GLAM) stakeholders regarding lifecycle risks, system upgrades, and long-term asset strategies.
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, qualification, validation, and handover activities for new or modified systems.
  • Support FAT, SAT, design reviews, and project implementation activities.
  • Review and approve maintenance plans, operational procedures, technical changes, and system-specific documentation.
  • Support contractor and vendor management activities related to assigned systems.
  • Ensure assigned systems remain in an inspection-ready and validated state.

Decision-Making Responsibilities
  • Approve system-specific SOPs, maintenance plans, and operational procedures.
  • Recommend or approve lifecycle upgrades, replacements, and reliability improvements for assigned systems.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities, upgrades, and downtime requirements within assigned system scope.
  • Initiate or support deviations, change controls, CAPAs, and system improvement activities.
