Sr. Project Controls Engineer

Our client is a leading Project Management and Engineering company serving the pharmaceuticals industry around the world.

At least 8–10 years of demonstrable experience in project controls, cost control, cost estimating, and/or commercial roles within engineering or construction projects.
Strong background in cost control and cost estimating; QS experience is a clear plus.
Demonstrable experience with large-scale CAPEX projects and complex cost structures.
Experience working on both the client and contractor sides.
Experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., nuclear, infrastructure, heavy industry).
Thorough knowledge of cost estimating (AACE), cost control, and contractual management.
Experience with contract forms such as FIDIC, NEC, EPC, and/or bespoke contracts.
Strong analytical skills and a high level of numerical aptitude.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade stakeholders.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Supporting and performing CAPEX estimates (AACE classes 1–5) and contributing to estimate assurance activities.
Reviewing existing baseline estimates and identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and assurance of robust cost estimating procedures and standards.
Support stakeholders in selecting methodologies and interpreting estimating results.
Set up, coordinate, and manage cost control and reporting processes within assigned contract packages.
Developing and improving (enhanced) cost reports, including forecasts, trends, and variance analyses.
Identifying, analyzing, and managing cost trends, including risks and opportunities.
Managing variations, progress payments, and final settlements.
Contributing to subcontract management, procurement processes, and commercial negotiations.
Supporting dispute resolution and commercial decision-making.
Serving as a sparring partner for internal and external stakeholders (project team, contractors, management).
Translating complex cost data into clear insights and management information.
Making an active contribution to integrated project controls (scope, planning, costs, and risks).
