Last Wednesday, we organised a retirement dinner for colleagues who were leaving the company for the first or second time. It was a pleasant evening where many memories were shared over a delicious dinner.
Temporary employer
TailorMinds has been in business for over fourteen years. For many colleagues, we are a temporary employer with an average collaboration length of between 1.5 and 2.5 years. After this period, colleagues often join one of our clients. Just under 20% of our colleagues are permanent employees and deliver added value to our clients’ projects from a permanent base. We have said goodbye to three of these colleagues. They worked with us for twelve and a half, three and a half and three years respectively.
Connection
Because we value connection and personal contact, we arranged to meet at Restaurant Akkeroord, where taste and the dining experience are the main focus. We were able to enjoy the food and the cosy atmosphere in a private dining setting. Each colleague was asked to bring one or two people with them, varying from family members and partners to colleagues they work closely with.
Looking back
Arjan spoke on behalf of TailorMinds, expressing his personal appreciation for his colleagues and sharing a few memories from the past years. His personal words for Ernst, Jos and Franz were concluded with wishes for a wonderful time after their working lives and all that this entails.
During the table conversations that followed, many memories of previous projects were shared. And, how could it be otherwise, technological developments of today and the past were compared. It became clear that passion for your profession does not stop when you retire. There is even a little doubt as to whether retiring was the right decision, so perhaps we will see one of these colleagues again on a future project.
