Our new colleague João arrived in the Netherlands yesterday. As of September 1st he will start working as a Qualification Engineer at one of our relations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Smooth process
We were introduced to João in March of this year. He let us know that he was open to a challenge outside of Portugal. If you are still young and ambitious and do not yet have any children, a step to a job abroad is generally easier to make. This was also his thought. After a positive introductory meeting we started to look for the right job for him.
An interesting opportunity presented itself around July. It only took one interview to convince the customer, so a start in September was confirmed. The contracts were signed and the preparations could begin. João arranged his business in Portugal while we started with the formalities in the Netherlands.
The preparations
In terms of preparations, João mainly had to get his papers in order for a proper registration in the Netherlands and to terminate his employment contract in Portugal. He did the latter relatively early so he had a longer period of time before starting in the Netherlands to take a vacation in Portugal to say goodbye to friends and family.
In the meantime accommodation has been arranged in the Netherlands and everything is ready to start on 1 September. We wish João lots of success with his challenges in the Netherlands and we are looking forward to a great cooperation!
