Quarterly meeting in a familiar place

Last Friday, we were once again guests at ‘Kasteel de Vanenburg in Putten. The whole team gathered for the relocated quarterly meeting with a game of bowling in the afternoon to compensate for sitting still again. A look back at an informative and productive team day.

Fat Tree

At TailorMinds, we meet once a quarter in a changing format. Here, we look back on the previous period, reflect and give and receive feedback. Furthermore, we coordinate plans, both commercial and organisational, for the coming period. We call this “Fat Tree”, as a metaphor because under or near a tree you can calmly take in what you see happening around you. We usually plan this in the first week of the new year. Because there was a lot of snow at the time and road conditions were uncertain, we chose to move it to a later time in the month.

Looking back at 2025

We started 2026 on a very positive note, already noticing in the last quarter of 2025 that the market continued to pick up. This positive trend was reinforced by a number of new relationships that we also got to serve. The bottom line result for 2025 was not great. Incidentally, analysis of these results show that this was mainly because our commitment outweighed results. This concerned commitment we gave to colleagues we emigrated here earlier and who have been temporarily ‘in between jobs’. The final conclusion is that if we factor in this period of ‘vacancy’, which was quite costly, we are just a healthy company. Especially the risk analysis on how we can improve recruitment in this regard will ensure that we approach this differently in the future.

Looking ahead 2026

From the operations side, Sander looked back with us at the realised projects, key figures and what we can conclude from this for the coming year. We also discussed the implementation of the new collective labour agreement and the preparations that are being made to comply with the TTA Act. Before enjoying a well-prepared lunch, there was room for personal feedback. Atmosphere, team and content are good ingredients for a safe conversation where we grant each other insights that we sometimes miss ourselves.

Bowling

Not yet a tradition, but for the second time, we arrived at a bowling centre after lunch and a short trip in Putten. There, strength, aiming and agility were employed to hit as many pins as possible, also the speedometer that was present provided the necessary entertainment. After a closing drink(board) with drinks, it was time to start the weekend.
