Welcome to the Netherlands, Raghu!

Yesterday our new colleague Raghu arrived in the Netherlands and we welcomed him and his family at Schiphol Airport. Next week he will start at our relation as Validation Consultant. We wish him a lot of success!

First meeting

The first acquaintance with Raghu was in the middle of last year via an online Teams-meeting after we received his application. During this acquaintance, we were able to talk to him thoroughly about his background and experience. Raghu is originally from India but has lived and worked in South Africa since 2008. During our visit to South Africa last November, we also met Raghu in person. In it, we talked about the situation in the Netherlands and his working conditions. His desire to work in the Netherlands was undiminished.

Application procedure

After returning, we set to work to find the right position for Raghu. Yet it took some time before it came to a collaboration. We were convinced of his knowledge and experience but we were waiting for the right position at the right time. After the first interview with our relation took place, there was a mutually positive feeling. Partly due to holidays, availability and busy work, a follow-up interview was scheduled at a later time. This follow-up interview also went well and a future collaboration was soon agreed.

Formalities

After agreeing on a start date and signing the contracts, the application to the IND for the residence permit could be made. The approval did not take long. In the meantime, we stayed in touch with Raghu about, among other things, finding suitable housing. In this we succeeded in consultation, and Raghu and his family received the key to their new home. The appointments with the municipality and the IND are scheduled. Afterwards, we can arrange the other formalities such as a BSN, bank account and health insurance.
