Damla

Good luck Damla

Yesterday we welcomed our Turkish colleague Damla in the Netherlands. Today she started as a Pharmaceutical Consultant at one of our clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to the start we had to deal with a process that did not quite go according to plan but in the end turned out well.

Keeping in touch

With Damla we have been in contact since 2019 about possibilities to live and work in the Netherlands. At that time the conclusion was that the timing was not yet right. However, we have agreed to stay in touch. Recently we got back in touch with Damla where at that moment the timing was better. Also, pretty soon an opportunity arose. After two interviews one of our clients was convinced of her knowledge, skills and personality so the process could start for her.

Dealing with changed circumstances

The process of coming to the Netherlands went according to plan. The applications to the IND for a knowledge migrant visa and a family visa were approved quickly, an MVV could be obtained on time and the tickets were booked. Until one week before the start date and one day before departure, her project was cancelled. An unexpected event that called for a quick turnaround.

Damla was flexible about this and we postponed arrival in the Netherlands until further notice. Fortunately, within two days there was an interview for a new project with a positive result: she can start. This meant that in a relatively short time suitable accommodation and a new planning of the formalities in the Netherlands had to be made.

We prefer to see the processes go completely according to plan. However, experience shows that situations can arise that you cannot influence but are dependent on. Converting an unexpected change into an opportunity is therefore the road to success. We therefore thank Damla for her commitment and confidence and wish her good luck with the new challenges in the Netherlands.
