PPA-session at Agidens Life Sciences

Last week, requested by Agidens Life Sciences, Arjan was a guest to give a presentation about the DISC model. All attendees (more than 25) had completed a PPA assessment in the week prior to the presentation. The output of the assessment tells a lot about the preferred working behavior of the participants.

DISC

For one this is more exciting than for the other. Arjan explained how personal development in a professional environment can be linked to a growth in self-awareness. If you understand yourself better and know how you can react situationally, it becomes easier to observe the work behavior of colleagues around you and to deal with it without value judgment.

The DISC model categorizes behavioral characteristics by: Dominance, Influence, Stability and Conformism. The extent to which this occurs is not right or wrong. Recognizing the presence of these behavioral traits also gives you insights into what gives you energy and where not.

Let’s start

After explaining the theory, everyone in the group could look for his or her own behavioral profile, which was posted anonymously. Afterwards there was the opportunity to go through their own detailed report and ask questions about it individually. The conclusion consisted of a little more theory about recognizing and observing the behavior of others and how we can safely deal with this. With the aim of achieving better, but also more open cooperation.
