Recruitment in holiday periods

In recent years we have noticed that recruitment during the holiday periods is somewhat quieter than usual. Where do we notice the delays and how do we deal with them?

Holidays

First of all, the word the holiday season already reveals a lot: the holidays. During this period people are absent more often and/or for a longer period of time. This means that several key persons who are not present or cannot make a decision at the same time in the recruitment process. We usually inform our candidates and relations about this. Especially the fact that the process can take longer than usual. Incidentally, we notice this not only during the summer holidays, but also during the other holiday periods.

Best practices

The best way to deal with it? As indicated earlier, we will inform you in advance about any longer lack of feedback. What we proactively do for our colleagues whose projects seem to be ending is that we want to have clarity about the follow-up before the holiday periods. Is there an extension? Will someone be hired by our relationship as a result of a successful period? Or is it wise to look at other options together?
