Welcome back Jeroen

Yesterday Jeroen started as Project Manager with our client after we welcomed him at Schiphol last week. In Jeroen’s case, it’s about a “welcome back” to the Netherlands. Jeroen emigrated to South Africa with his parents in his teens. Now he is back on Dutch soil. He still speaks very good Dutch so finding a new challenge was easy.

Different procedure

Because there are hardly any requirements for Jeroen when it comes to permits, this emigration has the character of an “emigration-light”. Only municipal registration, opening a bank account and arranging health insurance are still on the to-do list. Most of the time was saved in the preparation. As a result, there was only four weeks between finalizing the agreement and starting this time.

Housing

Because there was only time for four weeks, the biggest challenge this time was finding suitable housing. One and a half weeks ago this also succeeded, through a WhatsApp visit Jeroen was able to assess his accommodation from a distance. After the contracts were signed, last Friday was the key transfer and Jeroen could move into his new home.

Last important hurdle

There is one last important hurdle to be taken in the coming period. For the South African wife of Jeroen there is an ongoing procedure, fortunately the follow-up and guidance is in safe hands with Expat Relocations Service of Elizette Nel and her colleagues.
