Welcome William

Welcome William

Last week we welcomed our new South African colleague to The Netherlands. William started his new job as a CQV Engineer at one of our relations yesterday. TailorMinds guides him as an employer/recognised sponsor during the first weeks in The Netherlands. Welcome William.

Preparation

William has been in contact for some time through a former colleague who also worked for TailorMinds for a while. After a good introduction, we kept in touch and waited for the right opportunity at the right time. This last puzzle piece came together in August, which ment the formalities to come to The Netherlands could start.

The biggest challenges we notice are getting the right documents with the right notes (such as an unabridged birth certificate with apostille) and finding a house. For example, in other countries the formalities are set up differently, which means that time schedules can run differently. In addition, the housing market in The Netherlands is competitive. A suitable home has been found through our partner Expat Property Brokers!

Arrival

Upon arrival in The Netherlands, we are always ready at the airport to receive the people and the suitcases. A visit to our office with ‘kibbeling’ for lunch and receiving the new house keys are the standard. For some houses we go the extra mile as they are upholstered. In William’s case, we ordered the basic furniture from a large furniture company and collected the order. The lesson this time was to look closely at the sizes of the mattress, because not everything fits in the car.

Good luck

William has already completed the first day and we hope to have a great collaboration for many more days. We wish William every success with his adventure in The Netherlands. Fortunately, William does not have to do the adventure at TailorMinds alone: his partner Odette will soon also arrive in The Netherlands and will start at one of our relations in November.
