Kick-off 2025 with ‘spares’ and ‘strikes’

Last Friday, we were guests at ‘the Heerlijckheid of Ermelo’ in the village with the same name. With the whole team, we had the kick-off for 2025 here with lots of ‘spares’ and ‘strikes’ in the afternoon. A review of a productive team day.

Fat Tree

At TailorMinds, we meet once a quarter in variable formation to look back on the past period, reflect, give and receive feedback and fine-tune our plans for the year ahead. We call this ‘Fat Tree’, because under or near a tree you can quietly take in what you see happening around you.

2024

As we read in the 2024 blog (2024: Stable in a shrinking market – TailorMinds), we had a stable year with an ample result at the bottom line. As a wise saying goes, ‘If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got.’ It does mean work for us in 2025. The market in our niche took a step back in the past year, new markets were explored but not yet fully with the desired results. We are taking another step to turn stability into more continuity. This involved analysing the results, holding up a mirror to ourselves in terms of client development, our team and the input we provided. Part of this reflection was also a piece of personal feedback. Atmosphere, team and content are good ingredients for a safe conversation where we grant each other insights we sometimes miss ourselves.

Plans

From both marketing and recruitment, Sander looked ahead to 2025 in his role as operations manager. At TailorMinds, we always strive to present several suitable candidates to our relations for every role that is requested. We also looked at the performance of the website and our LinkedIn strategy. We would like to keep this up in 2025. At the end of this programme, everyone had insight into the plans and everyone’s expected share in them.

‘Spares’ and ‘Strikes’

After a lunch buffet (which was a bit messy in terms of organisation) but which tasted more than fine, we moved to another part of the location to compete with each other in bowling. Here, some hidden talents revealed themselves and some colleagues’ spares and strikes were flying around their ears. ‘Right the first time’ is something that fits well with our aim to assist our relations. We are very confident of a great year, if the results of the bowling were a prelude, then it will definitely be good.
