In early April we announced that Nico was on his way. Last Wednesday we welcomed Nico and his family in the Netherlands. As of the 1st of June he will start working as an Improvement Engineer in the industrial automation sector. Before this moment there is plenty of time to arrange a number of formalities.
Visa procedure and house search
After we had an agreement with our relation that Nico could start, the procedures started. With regard to the application for their visas, we were able to do this quickly. This was because Nico and his partner already had the intention to come to the Netherlands for some time. Their documents such as passports and birth certificates fully met the requirements of the IND.
In the meantime there was also another important procedure: the search for a suitable house. Since Nico is not the only expat coming this summer, the housing market is quite competitive and we do want to guarantee quality, we called in Expat House Hunters. They were able to find a suitable house within a short period of time so that we had a house immediately upon arrival.
Formalities in the Netherlands
Once in the Netherlands, there are a number of formalities on the agenda. We prefer to do these before officially starting working for the client so that the new colleague can start working with less worries. In the coming days we will be busy arranging a BSN, a Dutch bank account and their residence permits. For Nico’s daughter we are working with Expat Relocation & Immigration Services to find a suitable school. For this purpose the first appointments with elementary school with language classes have been made.
On June 1 the first working day is scheduled. We wish Nico good luck with his new job and all the challenges in the Netherlands.
