Update from Port Elizabeth

Our project in South Africa started last Monday in Port Elizabeth where we are speaking to about 50 candidates on site. We are now over halfway through this project. Time for an update.

Different starting points

By now we have spoken to about 30 candidates where, as always, it is interesting to see how diverse the candidates are in their backgrounds, expectations and search. Since the interviews are about potential opportunities in the Dutch pharmaceutical industry, all candidates are interested in the process. Some heard about us via-via where the others already followed us through our online channels.

The differences at the moment are still in the different starting points. Where some are still purely exploring, others have their bags ready. By giving information about the procedures, we try to let the candidates think with the right luggage about working with TailorMinds in the Netherlands.

Personal experience

An added value to the interviews are our colleagues Ernest and Danie. Normally the interviews are only with the Recruitment Consultants. We know the processes and the formalities. However, experiencing the whole process is another story. By conducting the interviews based on technical knowledge, process guidance and personal experience, we can add a lot of value for the candidates. For this we are very grateful to Ernest and Danie.

The follow up

Today and tomorrow there are about 20 more interviews to go. After this week we will return to Zoetermeer where many second meetings will take place online. This is to go over further specific details and questions. Think about financial prospects, specific situation of family, visa procedures and the Dutch housing market. Our expectation is that the first candidates will be introduced to our relations in December and thus the first colleagues will be in the Netherlands in February. To be continued.
